Many machine shops, large or small, have upgraded to CNC machinery. This is the type of equipment used in a variety of manufacturing environments what must produce complicated identical parts. CNC machinery is also used in the manufacturing of tooling, such as dies and moulds, which are used to mass-produce metal and plastic parts.

Concrete Pump Operators coordinator the placement of ready-mix concrete through a pump at job sites, set up concrete delivery systems, monitor the movement of concrete to its destination, and resolve issues related to the pouring of pumped concrete.

Construction Boilermakers build, repair, test, and maintain all types of boilers, tanks, and pressure vessels. They also perform all types of structural and plate work on dust, air, gas, steam, oil, water, and other liquid-tight pressure vessels. Work may occasionally be done on scaffolds to repair and maintain existing boilers.

Construction Craft Workers prepare, excavate, backfill, compact, and clean up work sites. They also handle materials, as well as ship and receive parts.

Construction Millwrights install, maintain, and troubleshoot industrial machinery, mechanical equipment, and other automated and robotic systems. They primarily service the construction industry and often work closely with other tradespeople, such as pipefitters and electricians.

Cooks prepare, cook, and present a wide variety of foods for anywhere from five to five hundred people. They may work at receptions, house parties, and other events or create individual dishes in restaurants or institutions, sometimes in accordance with instructions from a dietician or chef. Some Cooks may even work in test kitchens where they develop recipes for televised cooking shows or home and lifestyle magazines.

Die Designers are skilled craftspeople that help create dies for stamping, forming, or forging presses. Certification as a Tool and Die Maker is a prerequisite for starting a Die Designer apprenticeship in Ontario.
