What does a CNC Programmer (670C) do?

Many machine shops, large or small, have upgraded to CNC machinery. This is the type of equipment used in a variety of manufacturing environments what must produce complicated identical parts. CNC machinery is also used in the manufacturing of tooling, such as dies and moulds, which are used to mass-produce metal and plastic parts.

What Preparation and Training Do You Need?

  • Grade 10 is legal minimum, though secondary school diploma is preferred
  • Completion of an 2,000-hour apprenticeship, including a combination of on-the-job and in-school training
  • Exam to obtain Certificate of Qualification
