STRN Provincial Advisory Meeting Highlights Skilled Trades Collaboration

MAY 19 2026

Industry, education, labour, and community partners from across Ontario recently gathered at the Toronto Congress Centre for the Skilled Trades Regional Networks (STRN) Provincial Advisory Meeting, held during the 2026 Skills Ontario Competition.

The meeting brought together representatives from employers, unions, secondary and post-secondary institutions, and workforce development organizations to discuss strategies for strengthening Ontario’s future skilled trades workforce through collaboration and partnership.

Led by ApprenticeSearch.com and Skills Ontario in partnership with the Ontario Ministry of Education, the Skilled Trades Regional Networks initiative has expanded to 12 Regional Networks across the province, helping students explore and pursue careers in the skilled trades.

Discussions throughout the event focused on labour market trends, regional opportunities, and strengthening connections between employers, educators, and community organizations to better prepare students and job seekers for rewarding careers in the trades.
