
Water Meter Installers are responsible for installing, testing, repairing and maintaining residential water meters. Industrial water meters may only be installed by a certified plumber. The difference between these two types of water meters is that a residential water meter has an intake and outlet pipe smaller than 25mm whereas anything higher is usually in an industrial setting.
NOTE: This is a short-term certification program for a restricted skill set.

What Preparation and Training Do You Need?
Grade 12 is required to apprentice in this trade. A Water Meter Installer is quite a short apprenticeship, lasting only 235 hours (4-6 weeks), which includes 25 hours of in-class instruction.
